Hawk came into my life quite unexpectedly.  My good friend Ed Smith asked if I would please take a pup from his litter from CH Smith's Cytise des Pigenettes and CH Alan de l'Escarbot.  Ed and his lovely wife Joyce got Cytise in France at the 100 year anniversary of the Epagneul Breton.  When I researched Cytise's pedigree I was surprised to see that she went back to Omer de la Valle du Boel - Beau's and Destinée's sire.   I agreed to take a pup and I'm already convinced it was a good decision.  Hawk is just one year old but he has already proven himself in real hunting conditions.  He had the privilege of going out opening weekend with my friend Gary Neese.  Although the birds were difficult to find - Hawk proved his potential by locating and solidly pointing two Sharptail Grouse and delivering them to hand even though he had JUST started his retrieving training.  He's a natural.  Gary was very impressed with the young pup.

 

Hawk also obtained his T.A.N. certificate at just 7 months of age with an impressive search, use of nose, SOLID point and steady to flush.  Whew!  If he keeps this up - I've got a winner on my hands.

 

On top of all this - Hawk has a terrific personality - sense of humor - and is a super quick learner.  He is just FUN to work with.  He makes me smile.
