When I heard that my
friends Anne and Andreas Eising in Germany had bred their male,
"Bolko"to a female from Dirk Rupprechts vom Hainfelsen line I was
greatly intrigued. I've always liked Bolko and his brother
Brisko. Dirks dogs have always done really well in the tests so I
knew there would be excellent performance on both sides. Bolko
has competed in the World Cup and in many field trials in France and
other countries. He always does well and has been rated
"Excellent" in conformation in France. Cira - Fanny's mother is from
a line that is strong in clear white - so I was intrigued by that
since we've noticed a trend for too much dark in the coats of some
of the dogs in this country. So when the litter was born and
the puppies exhibited this clear white coloration I was sold.
5 of the 7 puppies were also naturally short tailed. This is
not a trait I try to breed for, but was not disappointed to see it.
The first thing that I
saw in Fanny this summer is an incredibly strong drive in the water.
She is very bold, confident, an passionate. That bodes well
for equal desire in the field and other parts of the tests.
She's set to do the the VJP in March in Idaho. Fingers crossed
. . .
Oh, one other
interesting tidbit on Fanny's past - her breeder is a Falconer.
Cool!
