This picture was taken in Oct 2005, opening weekend of Pheasant season in Medicine Lake, Mt. Strike had 10 points in 4 hours on pheasants and was steady on 8 of them (5 were hens). He performed a flawless 200 yard track on one rooster, retrieving it without a feather out of place. We then jumped some Buffleheads that were on a nearby pond and Strike retrieved the Drake that was shot as well.
Strike was run in the PCNA EXPO 2005 Natural Ability Evaluation. This test judges the dogs work in the field, water, and a track on a live pheasant. After finding 5 birds the judges said they had seen enough. He scored 82 points. The best part of the test was that all 6 of Strikes littermates were tested that weekend. "Strike" - at 10 weeks of age In 1976 TLK acquired our first Pudelpointer - Winterhelle's Knockout (AKA "Kelly"). Kelly was an exceptional dog and was the first TLK dog to achieve a NAVHDA Prize II which he achieved at 10 months of age. Over the years - we have enjoyed the special qualities of this unique breed. Winterhelle's Strike is a direct descendent of Winterhelle's Knockout and is Chris' first Pudelpointer of his very own. We are very excited to welcome "Strike" to TLK and anticipate that he will follow in his "great grandpa's" [Kelly's] footsteps and prove to be an exceptional hunting dog. For more information on the Pudelpointer please visit The Pudelpointer Club of North America.
Pictured above is Strike with one of his littermates. Strike is the one with the "12 o'clock tail." Style with a capital "P"
