Topper-Lyn Kennels breeds for the total dog. We do not emphasize show over field or field over show, the dog must do both. We are also dedicated to producing healthy and physically sound dogs. All of our breeding stock has been X-Rayed and are free of Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD), commonly referred to as Canine Hip Dysplasia.
In keeping with the "Total Dog" concept, and the belief that these dogs were meant to be versatile, we test our dogs in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, Jagdgebrauchshundverband-JGV-USA, Versatile Hunting Dog Federation, as well as UKC field Trials and shows. Little is often said about the ability of these dogs in the water, in France they run in a four part test that requires a search for duck as well as a deep water retrieve, these dogs receive a B.I.C.P.
Our goal is to maintain the standard and type developed in France. At the same time develop our own line of dogs that will stand out in any arena. By utilizing as many venues as possible that emphasize quality over quantity, we hope to do just that. By only breeding the best to the best.
